LEONOR FINI (1907–1996)
Fini’s surreal, sensuous paintings center feminine power, mysticism, and transformation. A rebellious presence among male Surrealists, she painted women as majestic beings rather than muses. Her work is in Centre Pompidou, MoMA, and Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (Argentina)."I never wanted to be a man's woman. I have always wanted to be my own woman."
